New Bottle Experience | Trump Chardonnay 2013

New Bottle Experience | Trump Chardonnay 2013

Each week, Mark Powers our Editor-in-Chief at Uncorked Monthly invites a small group of people to join him for his “New Bottle Experience”. This is a private session where Mark and his group will enjoy new wines from vineyards that have expressed interest in an exclusive featured interview with Uncorked Monthly. We then write a full wine tasting report and article around the wine, vineyard owner, and wine maker.

Winery: Trump Winery

Varietal: Chardonnay

Vintage: 2013

Region: Virginia

Review: This was an amazing Chardonnay that boasts an attractive light yellow-green color and vibrant pear and lemon aromas.

When we spoke with Kerry H. Woolard,
General Manager at Trump Winery, she told us that their Chardonnay is hand-harvested early in the morning and whole cluster pressed. The juice is cold settled then fermented in stainless steel tanks.

She told us that their aging process occurs 90% in stainless steel and 10% in French oak barrels.

Kerry is responsible for overseeing all operations for the 1,300 acre estate.
